Antibacterial Mouthwash Could Save You Trips to the Dentist

Most people hate going to the dentist. I mean what sounds fun about sitting in a cold chair, staring at the ceiling, while holding your mouth open for hours, letting someone else stick their hands inside your mouth – not to mention the drills and other pointy metal objects? Yeah, that does not sound fun to me either.

But we need dentists in our lives. And when you have a good dentist, these visits won’t seem as painful. Toothaches can be one of the more excruciating pains a human can experience. When your mouth becomes infected it even can hurt the rest of your body’s health. For example, when you experience major gum infection, it is 83% likely that you will get a sinus infection. If the gum infection is not treated within 10 days, the rest of your body is in danger of infection.

Another thing that people may not realize is the importance of using an antibacterial mouthwash on a daily basis.

Did you know that by using mouthwash daily it will actually fight gum disease to such a great extent that could save you trips to the dentist? Well if not, here are some more Fun Mouthwash Facts to help you start using mouthwash to cease gum infection and reduce dental trips!

·         The first mouthwash was developed with the intention of being used as an antiseptic in surgical settings. It made its first appearance in 1879. However, it was later adapted to domestic use as an aide to brushing teeth. Thus, the first general mouthwash was sold over the counter in 1914. The mouthwash was distributed under the trade name "Listerine".

·         Mouthwash has also been used for a variety of different interesting treatments. One of the most bizarre uses of mouth wash was for the treatment of dry scalp in the 1920's. Mouthwash has also been used as a facial cleanser as well as an after-shave lotion. This could probably be because of the high alcohol content of the traditional mouth wash.

·         Mouthwash has also been associated with a condition known as 'hairy black tongue'. This condition results from the overuse of mouthwash. Like everything else, it is important to use mouthwash in moderation.

If you have a gum infection or tooth infection, top dentists in your area should recommend that you use an antibacterial mouthwash to help stop the infection from spreading. They may even prescribe a specific mouthwash to help reduce the infection. So start using mouthwash daily to fight gum disease! I guarantee it will help reduce tooth and gum infections and save you painful trips to the dentist.

Emergency Root Canal Dental Care

One of the greatest physical pains in life is a toothache. When you have a major toothache, it can affect your entire body. For me, this past week, I had the worst toothache I have ever had before. It made my whole body feel weak, gave me a huge migraine and I even broke out in a fever because it became infected. I was miserable.

However, when I called my local dentist to see if they could see me, they were completely booked. I wanted to cry because I was in so much pain. I had nowhere else to go.

Luckily, I searched online for local dentists in my area that accepted my dental care plan and found a respectable dentist nearby named Dr. Palmer.

Dr. Palmer was really great! When I called in at 9am, his receptionist booked me an appointment for an Emergency Root Canal for 11am the same day. She understood my level of urgency and I felt like she sincerely cared about my well-being.

When I went in for my emergency root canal “surgery”, Dr. Palmer examined my mouth to see exactly what was going on. When he began to clean out the infected areas of my tooth he was extra cautious to make sure everything was done correctly. He even walked me through the dental process, step-by-step so that I would know what was going on with my mouth and what to expect.

After he got rid of the decayed tooth and the infectious areas, he let me know what my options were. He said that because there isn’t much tooth left, there is a chance the root canal would fail and I would have to get it extracted. But then he also explained what extracting my tooth now would mean. I went in for an emergency root canal, and Dr. Palmer explained all of my options.

When I told him that I wanted to go ahead with the root canal and see how it works, he let me know that he would have made the same choice on his own mouth. He said it is the least expensive and will most likely work. There is always a chance it will fail, but he said that 90% of the time the root canal would succeed, saving me more money.

It was great to know that I found such a good dentist online. Dr. Palmer cared sincerely about my health and my finances. He even waived the $75 down payment for me, because of my severe case.

Now my mouth is better than ever, thanks to finding a top dentist online!

Best Dentist for a Root Canal

This past week I had to go into the dentist for an emergency root canal. My back left molar was killing me. The pain was so intense. I would wake up in the middle of the night crying and unable to sleep because of it. I am pretty good with pain and can usually handle just about anything, but this toothache was too much to bear.

I called my dentist to schedule an emergency appointment, but the receptionist said they were all full until 6pm the following day. Normally, I would have waited, but because the pain was so intense, I could not wait another day.

The main problem was that I absolutely loved my dentist, Dr. Greene. He always did such a great job. But since he wouldn’t be able to take care of me, I needed to find another amazing dentist, fast. My manager at work told me about Top Dentists Online, where she found her dentist. She really liked her Dentist, Dr. Palmer, so I called them.

His receptionist was really nice and helpful. They were able to see me within 2 hours of making the phone call, and they worked out a payment plan, so I wouldn’t have to worry about finances. It was such a relief to be able to find a local top dentist so quickly!

When I went into the office, Dr. Palmer and his staff was friendly, knowledgeable and prepared to help eliminate my throbbing pain. The dentist was nice, friendly, and cared about my health. He told me a few of my options with my emergency root canal, recommended what he would do and took care of me instantly.

Before I found Top Dentists Online, I was in such excruciating pain and I had no where to go. I was so grateful for my manager for showing me this site, and recommending Dr. Palmer. I ended up being taken care of with exceptional service and pricing, and the best part was that I was able to find a local dentist within a 5 minute drive from my home.

Having a dentist that you can trust and depend on is crucial to having a smile you love. I am so grateful to have found the best dentist for my emergency root canal, and now I know I have a dentist that I can go to anytime my dentist is too busy to see me.

You Know You Aren't Using the Top Dentist in Your Area When...

I thought I’d make a fun article about references to dentists, dental offices and teeth in general from the movies or TV shows where the lines originated.
There are online directories where people requiring dental work can go to find the top dentists in their area. Here are a few examples of the dentists you won’t find on topdentistsonline.com.

Hey Frank, if you keep cleaning those teeth, the Germans are going to see you from a mile away.

Band of Brothers (2001, TV series). World War II drama made a counterpoint to tooth whitening. Who would have thought that tooth whitening would have its drawbacks?

Well, I would have taken better care of my teeth.
Peggy Sue Got Married (1986, film). A middle-age woman reflects on many things she would have done differently when she is transported back in time to her high school years. I think all of us would have taken better care of our teeth when we were younger – given a second chance.

We're going to crash. We're going to die. They'll check out our dental records to identify our remains, and I haven't been to Dr. Overding for as much as a polish in over six months.

Cheers (1986, TV series). Diane worried too much, didn’t she? Dental records are kept for longer than six months — at least seven. This is just another good reason for your dentist to keep good dental records on you.

Really, Mrs. Durant. Your teeth are more important than your hair!

Cactus Flower (1969, film). Goldie Hawn was the flaky mistress in this breakthrough role, but Ingrid Bergman was quite comical as the serious dental staff member.

I wouldn't even date a dentist — hands in people's mouths all day.

Frazier (1997, TV series). OK, this is sort of an insult to dentistry. But you had to know the sitcom’s fussy lead character, who shared his apartment with his father. So which is worse, being in someone’s mouth all day or in someone’s mind all day as was Frazier? I’d date a dentist over a psychologist any day!

Drink Slug-o-Cola, and keep your teeth that lovely shade of green.

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (1998, TV series). Somewhere, a Trekkie has a dental hygienist for a mother.

You know you're not supposed to brush your teeth for 24 hours before you go to the dentist.
Seinfeld (1990, TV series).More everyday (wrong) advice from the classic sitcom about nothing. I double brush mine on dental-visit day.

Andy, today it was brought to my attention that the downside to this business is death ...

I'm thinking about enrolling in dental hygiene school so my children aren't orphans.

Weeds (2005, TV series). The hazards of dealing drugs lead to thoughts of dentistry as a career. Why not? Every government report says jobs in dentistry are growing like weeds.

I'll never forget my first crush. She was a ravishing creature of eight, but it didn't work out.

The first time I kissed her, we locked braces. It took the dentist two hours to pry us apart.

The Addams Family (1965, TV Series). Gomez knew how to embellish the details of romance, didn’t he? My question is; what is so horrible about being lip locked for two hours?

I promised him that if he didn't bite the dental hygienist this time, I'd take him for ice cream.

I didn't have to take him for ice cream.

The Big Bang Theory (2012, TV series).I think it’s safe to say that Sheldon is probably not his dental hygienist’s favorite patient.

Holy molars! Am I ever glad I take good care of my teeth!

Batman (1966, TV series). The caped crusaders were grateful for simple things too, and we’re betting some young baby boomers brushed their teeth without complaint that night.

Well, there you have it: Lots of references about keeping teeth clean and visiting dentists on a consistent basis. For all you TV and movie junkies out there, keep brushing – and you might want to spend a minute online locating the top dentists in your area.
