This past month at
the Yakima Training Center in Central Washington, the 3rd Stryker
Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division was blessed by Correa’s
Dental. Dental Specialist
Krystal Pritchett from North Carolina spent all of October supporting the
division during a training rotation they had there.
"Emergency dental care out in the field encompasses
anything as complicated as the extraction of a (tooth) to your regular dental
fillings," said Pritchett. "We try to focus on emergency dental care.
That essentially means that any soldier who has severe pain or a loss of
function, meaning they can't eat or communicate with others, which is essential
in combat."
Soldiers out in the world, and even in training, come across
times when they need immediate dental work done because of the severe work they
perform every day. They work so hard to protect and defend our Country; of all
the people in the world they deserve to be taken care of in return for their
service.
The Correa Dental Team did everything they could to make
sure all the soldiers were in the best dental condition. Although some dental
procedures still required soldiers to leave training shortly to return to
larger dental clinics, dental teams are helping keep their soldiers healthy and
smiling in the field.
Soldiers and civilians alike need to care for our teeth and
overall oral health. One of the best ways to do this is with preventative dental care,
such as our 6-month cleanings and exams.
A toothache can be one of the worst pains and lead to much worse gum and other bodily infections if not
properly treated. Need to find a trustworthy dentist in your area? Top Dentists Online can help.
